How TAPEX works

TAPEX is a multiplayer prediction game on the live BTC/USDT feed. Read the grid, pick a cell, watch the round resolve in seconds — real-time prices, shared pools, transparent payouts.

GRID

  1. 1
    Read the 16-row grid

Next to the live BTC line is a symmetric price grid. Top 8 green rows = UP from current price. Bottom 8 pink rows = DOWN. Each column is one round; the rightmost columns are the latest.

  2. 2
Tap any cell to place a bid

Choose your stake (preset buttons on the right), then click a cell in any open column. Many users can pile into the same cell — the displayed pool is the sum of every bid on that cell.

  3. 3
    Mirror pairs decide the payout

Each green row has a mirror pink row across the centre. When the price line lands inside a column, the row it touches wins; the mirror row on the opposite side loses. Your payout is your share of the winning pool, scaled by the losing pool.

  4. 4
    No mirror? You get refunded

Only bets on the winning row and its mirror play win/lose against each other. Every other bet (wrong row entirely) is refunded — no opponent, no loss. The pair also refunds if one side of the mirror is empty (nobody to pay).

  5. 5
    The first column is locked

The leftmost column (closest to the live price) is frozen to prevent last-second sniping. Only the columns further out accept new bids.

  6. 6
    Three timeframes run in parallel

5s, 15s and 30s grids all exist at the same time. Switching the timeframe just changes the grid you see — bids you placed on another timeframe keep running and will resolve on their own schedule. Wins/losses appear in your Portfolio with the timeframe tag.

TAPEX Predict — worked examples

Three concrete scenarios so the payout rules are unambiguous.

  • WIN / REFUND

BTC = $63,000. You bid 50 TAPEX on row 3 (UP). The mirror row 12 (DOWN) has 200 TAPEX from other users. Hit row = 3.

    Result:You win. Payout = (50 / total_row_3_pool) × 200 TAPEX, returned on top of your 50 stake.

  • WIN / REFUND

You bid 50 TAPEX on row 5 (UP). The hit row is 11 (DOWN, your mirror), and row 5 has zero pool but row 11 has 80 TAPEX.

Result:Row 11 (DOWN) wins the entire row-5 pool of zero — i.e. there is nothing to redistribute. Your bet was the only one on the pair, so it is refunded in full.

  • WIN / REFUND

You bid 50 TAPEX on row 6 (UP). Hit row = 2 (different row entirely, also UP). Your row is not the winning row and not its mirror.

Result:Refunded. Only the winning pair (row 2 ↔ row 13) plays win/lose; everyone else gets their stake back.

FAQ

  • Is this real money?

No. TAPEX is a demo balance. Deposits/withdrawals on the Phantom path use Solana Devnet SOL — fake SOL with no real value.

  • Does MetaMask work?

Not yet. The wallet integration is Solana-only (Phantom / Solflare). You can also use the "Try a Demo Account" option to play without a wallet — 1,000 TAPEX is credited instantly.

  • Why does the price line sometimes sit flat?

BTC moves only a few dollars per second on quiet hours. The 5s grid has a tighter $10 row step so even small ticks produce visible motion; 15s/30s use wider steps for calmer rounds with bigger swings per resolution.

  • I switched timeframes — where did my bid go?

Nowhere. Each timeframe has its own grid that keeps running in the background. Your bid stays pending on its original timeframe; check the Predictions sidebar (right side) or the Portfolio page — every bid is tagged with the timeframe it belongs to.

  • Why is the first column "locked"?

The leftmost column is the one the price is about to enter. Locking it stops people from sniping the obvious winning row right before the round resolves.

  • Is the game multiplayer?

Yes. Every connected user sees the same grids and the same pools update in real time. Two users betting the same cell at the same time both contribute to the pool atomically.

  • What happens if I refresh the page?

Your wallet stays connected, your balance and bid history are re-fetched from the backend, and any pending bids on any timeframe are still alive. Local data is also cached so the UI restores instantly.
